In 2014, the Great Tapestry of Scotland was displayed in Aberdeen Art Gallery- it was fascinating..
I came away sure that a group could be formed in Culter doing similar talented work.
A group of stitchers then worked over many hours on a new pulpit fall for the Museum depicting the Heritage Trust logo.
It won a Diploma for the best needlework at the Culter Flower Show in 2016.
The next project- a Culter Tapestry showing many of our significant places and landmarks.
It has been a huge work with thousands of hours of stitching, felting and embroidery to create this superb tapestry.
Our thanks must go to all who have created this living Heritage Project,
a lasting contribution to the Culter community - and the Heritage Stitchers thoroughly enjoyed working every stitch!
