CULTER PLAYGROUP UPDATE

AT THE end of the spring term, the children enjoyed a mini-assault course with ramps, trampolines, tunnels, etc. as an Easter-time fundraiser. Our energetic little ones made good imitations of bouncing bunnies and frolicking spring lambs!

Culter's new Kelly's Cafe gave Playgroup a new theme for out 'housie' corner. The wee ones had a very sociable time acting one 'coffee time' at Culter Cafe. Watch our for your jobs Mabel and Rosie!

At this time of year our 'slim line' playleaders Sheila, Sheena and Jane 'groom' the older children for starting at Culter Nursery in August. They have an opportunity to see the smocks, gym shoes and nursery bags they will be using. Also they learn to recognise their written names in order to find their coat hooks and snack cards. In June the older group are led, crocodile fashion, up to the Nursery to meet Mrs Downie, Mrs Ritchie and co. and familiarise themselves with their new environments.

Our projected numbers for next term are rather alarming. We are 15 children down from our usual 54 (spread across the three age groups). The downturn is partly due to more working parents using private nurseries and also the high uptake of funded school nursery places at age three. Please let any friends, neighbours or relatives know about the high quality pre-school provision available at Culter Playgroup. Prospective parents should feel free to drop in to the Playgroup to experience the positive, fun-filled and caring atmosphere for themselves.

Our next fundraiser is the everpopular annual Ladies Night on Friday 14 May. There will be Bingo, Karaoke and laughs galore. Tickets are priced at £5 (including lst alcoholic drink) and are available from Playgroup.
