PETERCULTER PARISH CHURCH

OUR summer services take place during July and August at l0am. These slightly shorter and more informal services are of course open to everyone and we always look forward to welcoming holidaymakers to these services.

Once again, we will be holding a Holiday Club for all primary school children in the village. This is open to ALL children and not only to those with a church connection. This year it will take place from Monday 2 August-Friday 6 August from l0am - 11.50am in the church hall. If you would like to register your child or children for this, please phone 735845 or, if you wish, e-mail

secretary@culterkirk.co.uk You can also register by calling into the church office on June 22, 25, 29 or July 2, between l0am and 12 noon. We use the Scripture Union material which involves stories, craftwork, video, songs, drama and games.

We look forward to welcoming a Probationer to our church in July. Julie Woods will be working full time at the church for her 15 months probationary period. Julie is from Banchory and has been training for the Ministry at Aberdeen University. I will certainly enjoy working as part of a team!

Our Thursday and Saturday coffee mornings continue until the end of June and then there is a summer break. These coffee mornings are open to EVERYONE and offer tea, coffee and home baking at reasonable prices. Come along between l0am and 12 noon to the small hall at the church where you will be made most welcome.

On Thursdays, there is a short act of worship at 11.30am.

On Sunday 30 May, we will start our service outside at 10.40am in the church car park (weather permitting) and then continue indoors at llam. This will be to mark Pentecost Sunday, the day God's Holy Spirit led to the foundation of the Christian Church. We will be releasing lots of balloons to symbolise the spirit.

A Songs of Praise service with the Salvation Army band will be held on Sunday June 20th at 7pm. There will be lots of favourite hymns and a good sing is promised for all.

The church hall and the church itself is available during the day for most of the time and anyone wishing to hire the hall or church for a meeting, group, conference etc. should contact the church office at 735845.

 John Ferguson.
