CULTER NURSERY WOODLAND GARDEN PROJECT THE nursery is undertaking a project to clear and fence the small overgrown area, adjacent to the school nursery at the back of the Old School House, to make a Woodland Garden for all nursery and primary pupils to use for wildlife studies. A working committee has been appointed consisting of nursery parents as well as Mrs Downie, Mrs Kelly and Head Teacher, Mrs Glover. Fund raising activities have begun. We launched the project with a sale of bird houses, bird feeders, teas and coffees. This was a great success. We have in the pipeline a sponsored walk for the nursery children and also the sale of sunflowers, as well as a weekly lottery bonus ball. We are looking for help beyond that of the parents and teachers at the nursery and school and wondered if any residents of Culter may like to help with the project in some way. Maybe you or your company can supply us with some pots and compost for our sunflowers, or a donation to help with our funds, or some gardening help and advice. All would be gratefully received. If you can help in any way contact Marie Boulton. With everyone working together we can make this derelict space something your children or maybe your grandchildren can enjoy whilst at nursery and school. It will be hard work, and will take time, but it is a project that can be fulfilled. We will keep you up-to-date of our progress over the coming months. Marie Boulton Chairperson |
