Coming up in 2012
As you continue to enjoy bracing winter walks around Culter, work goes on to prepare the Heritage Centre for the new season. Members and visitors can look forward to a few changes when the Centre re-opens on Saturday 31st March. The Heritage Centre is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4pm through till the end of October. There are many events and concerts arranged during the year and you can look out for posters around the village to see "what 's on".
Preparations are also underway for the annual Culter Gala which is held on the last Saturday in May. Events take place mainly during the lead up to Gala Day - this year on 26th May - and Culter will be celebrating the "Queen's Diamond Jubilee" in style. Look out for the Scarecrow Competition, the annual Duck Race, Treasure Hunts and many more opportunities to be party of community life. Gala Day will see the parade of vintage vehicles and floats through the village. Why don't you get your community group to organise a float this year? Places for stalls on Gala Day will be available from around April ( look out for details in the "Culter Courier" ).
During the football season, look out for Culter FC's home matches at Crombie Park. Culter have been consistent performers in the Juniors Superleague and recently played Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup at Crombie and then in the replay at Firhill.
The Culter Theatre Club will be advertising their latest productions aorund the village ( the noticeboard outside the Village Hall is always a good place to start) - usually in June and December. The December show being the annual "Culter Panto " . So "Welcome to Culter"!.
