Aims of the Trust

The aims of the " Heritage Trust" are to:

1).  Retain, house and display items of whatever nature that have influenced the development of the Village and Parish of Peterculter over the years.

2).  To advance the education of the local residents in the area concerning its past connections with agriculture, the railways, the paper mill and many other relevant activities.

3).  To promote and provide a local facility for educational, social, or other activities that will assist residents or visitors to the area.

Initially to help achieve these aims the Trust took on the lease of the old St Peter's Parish Church on the banks of the river Dee, as the Trust's Heritage Centre. The building was purchased, from the Church of Scotland, at a cost of £5000 and has become the St Peter's Heritage Centre.

The Centre holds artefacts, photographic displays, reference / research and historical documentation, media publications from the past, and many other items relating to the history of the Parish and its People.

The Trust would be most appreciative of any donations or loan of any artefacts or materials for display in the Centre.

The Centre is open to all, at no charge ( but donations are always welcome), Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 2pm till 4pm where members will be on hand to help you if necessary or to answer any questions.
