GALA DAY 2007
Saturday 26th May
Would your group/
organisation be interested in taking a stall or equivalent area
for this year's event? If so, please fill in the form
stating your requirements. The cost this year for a community
stall or charity (please state charity number) is £10 per table
required, cheques are payable to Culter Gala. Once this fee is
paid any profit you make on your stall is solely for your
group/organisation to keep. There will also be prize money
awarded for best turned out stall, so it is well worth taking
part!
Space on the field
is limited, and in the past, groups who have requested just one
table and have then turned up with large gazebos and have taken
up extra space, making a knock on effect so that some groups
have been left in a tight squeeze. We will aim to try to
accommodate any special requests or requirements if we are
notified in writing at the time of booking. The tables that we
provide are 4ft X8ft and each plot is lined out accommodating
these dimensions. By filling out the form with your stall/ area
requirements will help us to correctly allocate the space you
require.
Our aim this year is
to have all community based or charity stalls with more games
and activities for the children to do, and no commercial lets.
We would much rather fill the field with local organisations,
but to do this we need your support.
As you will be
aware, we run a procession of floats through the village on Gala
Day usually depicting the theme of the Gala. This can be great
fun for all involved and a wonderful sight to see. There
will be a cash prize and trophy awarded for Best Float - so this
would also benefit your group. Please indicate whether you would
be interested in entering a float this year. We have one or two
contacts who may loan a vehicle and driver but it is your
group's resdponsibility to organise the transport. All safety
guidelines will be issued to groups who take part.
We would also like
to hear from groups who would be willing to organise a Gala Week
event, in the week leading up to Gala Day.
