EASTLEIGH CARE CENTRE I AM delighted to announce the appointment of our new Care Home Manager, Amanda Riach. Amanda joined us in April and has come to us with a wealth of experience. She is looking forward to meeting many of you at our May Fayre. I know she has many plans for Eastleigh and these will be revealed in course of time. A relatives meeting followed by a Cheese and Wine Party is planned for June. Springtime has arrived and as I write this article I cannot help but admire the beauty of the countryside. Fortunately the residents are once again able to enjoy this too as we have restarted our bus outings. Focus Care Ltd has its own mini bus now and, although is has to be shared with other Focus Care Homes, we have sole use of it on Thursdays. These outings provide much pleasure to our residents. We had an especially happy Easter due to one of our residents, Mrs Gladys McIlwain, celebrating her 100th Birthday. Gladys is a wonderful lady who thoroughly enjoyed her big day. Lady Provost Helen Reynolds visited the home to present a card and Birthday Greetings from Her Majesty the Queen. At this time of year we are busy planning our MAY FAYRE which takes place on Saturday, 15 May from 2 - 4 p.m. in Eastleigh. Once again there will be all the usual stalls:- Cake and Candy Books, Bottles, Bric a brac, Plants, Luck dips for children and hopefully, a Magician, not to mention the "Not to be Missed" popular AFTERNOON TEAS. Tickets are on sale at £1.50 for Adults and 75p for Children. Anyone out there who wishes to donate to any of the stalls or our Raffle should hand their donations into Eastleigh by 6 p.m. on Friday, 14 May. The residents and staff at Eastleigh would like to express their thanks to the many citizens of Culter who have generously supported us over the years. We hope you will continue to do so. This is your Care Home in the heart of your Community.
