EASTLEIGH CARE CENTRE

NOTE the name change!

We no longer go under the former name of ‘Nursing Home’. In December last year we were taken under the wing of Focus Care Centres Ltd. The home is run by our former Matron, Mrs Louise Grant, who is now manager, and her deputy manager Angela Malcolm. Angela is new to Eastleigh and will have been in post for a few weeks by the time this goes to press.

We have had a busy start to the year with our usual Burns Supper at the end of January and our ever-popular Family Quiz on the last night of February. It certainly proved a nail-biting experience for some! Hopefully we wifi hold another one in October.

With the fine weather over the past moths, we have had some great bus runs and walks. The Thursday morning walks along to the Church for coffee have been very popular but I could do with some voluntary help. So if anyone out there could spare a couple of hours on a Thursday morning, please contact met at the Care Centre.

Mr Ferguson, our local minister, came along to Eastleigh to judge the Easter Bonnets. He made a great job of it and the winner was Mrs Gladys Mcllwain, our oldest resident - a young 99 years.

Our major fundraiser is our MAY FAYRE on SATURDAY 17 MAY at EASTLEIGH from 2pm to 4pm . All the usual stalls, teas and entertainment for the children will be there. Entry tickets are now on sale priced at £1.50 for adults and 75p for children. This ticket also enables you to sample a delicious Afternoon Tea.

Please support this very worthwhile venture. Donations for any of the stalls can be handed in to me on the week of the Sale . Raffle tickets are also on sale with great prizes to be won.

In the last Courier, the date of the SILENT AUCTION was incorrect. This will be held on FRIDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2003 .

Thanks again for your support and interest in Eastleigh . I look forward to seeing you at our May Fayre.
