CULTS CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2004 has now started - where have you been? As I write this, it is raining, wet and cold. Last summer seems distant memory. But if you play cricket in Aberdeenshire, you do get used to the vagaries of the weather. Having played as long as I have, there is not much you can do about it, stoicism is the order of the day. As our esteemed President, Hamish MacDougall, often comments: 'There is nothing you can do about the weather.' On a far more positive note, cricket at Allan Park, Cults, can be a wonderful experience. Cults CC run two senior Xls on weekends and always require players. There is a thriving junior section under the tutelage of Phil Gill. Primary school kids are catered for with Kwik Cricket on Friday evenings. If you have any interest in cricket, please contact the writer. Alternatively visit our website - a cracking good read. Ian Sutherland Website http: / / members. lycos.co.uk/gillanders |
