Saturday 13 March
2010. Cuiter lost the first leg of a double header against Sunnybank. The
table toppers came from behind to grab all three points.
The match was a midfield battle for most of the first half with only a long
range effort from Craigie that flew over and a header from Ogboke worth writing
about but in 34 minutes Cuiter went in front. The away defence failed to clear
Wilson’s free kick and the ball fell to Chris OGBOKE who slotted home from close
range. ‘Bank replied with Greig firing in a cross that resulted in a mad
scramble which ended with Craigie fouling ‘keeper Mcintosh and Clark and Ogboke
being yellow carded. On the stroke of half time Ogboke had a great chance to
grab a double but pulled his shot wide from inside the box. Half Time: 1 — 0
Culter’s half time team talk went right out the window in the 47th minute. Greig
made his way to the by line before cutting the ball back to Nicky GORDON who
stroked in the equaliser Wilson just failed to get his head onto a Robertson
free kick before Clark’s curling shot just passed the upright at the other end.
Craigie then went charging into the box and missed from close range with the
ball somehow ending up in Mcintosh’s hands. McBain headed a Johnstone header off
the line and in 74 minutes Craigie was replaced by Steel. The sub came straight
onto the park and went on a run before passing to Nicky GORDON who flicked the
ball past the home ‘keeper. McBain was then felled in the box but amazingly the
referee waved away Culter’s claims for a penalty. McIntosh was then called into
action and pulled off two great saves from a Gordon free kick and then a
powerful Adams shot.
