Our 1st Round GA Engineering Inter Regional Cup tie against Dyce Juniors
due to be played on Saturday 12 December 2009 was postponed.
The inspection was
carried out by Referee Thomas Shaw prior to the due kick off time of 1.15 p.m.
but sunny Crombie Park was frozen hard and he declared the match off. This Cup
Tie was being sponsored by John Murphy and friends who were afready dining at
The Ploughman when the postponement was announced NRJFA Secretary Jack Whitehead
was on his way to the game by bus but his journey was in vain As previously
advised, this tie has priority and in the event of postponements will continue
as next fixture until completed.
Dyce Delay Double. Around this time last year we also had a Dyce match
cancellation. The Scottish
Junior Cup 3rd Round Tie Jeanfield Swifts v Dyce Juniors due on Saturday 13
December 2008 was
postponed and was rescheduled for the following week This meant our Superleague
game due against
Dyce on Saturday 20 December 2008 was delayed and resulted in us having no game
that day. Bobby
Gray’s plans to play a friendly match against Broughty Athletic then also came
unstuck.
Disappointing Dyce Draw. Culter drew 2 —2 with Dyce at Ian Mair Park, Dyce, on
Saturday 15 December 2007. Culter were denied two valuable points in the race
for the Superleague title thanks to a late late equaliser after the referee had
played five minutes injury time. This was all the more surprising when the game
had only been stopped once for injury. This broke Culter’s 100% league record
and we had a massive backlog of fixtures. Culter were ahead 1 — 0 at the
interval through Martin Shand and when he scored his 2 goal in the 51st minute a
win seemed on the cards. Edene. however, reduced the leeway then McHattie
equalised in the 95th minute. The Referee was Kenny Milne and our team was:Pirie,
Sim, Rattray, Wilson, Craib, Craik, Brown, Shand, Mountford, Hamilton, Shand;
Substitutes: Cadger, Robertson, Stewart, McBain, Riches.
