Superleague: Culter 6 East End I (at Crombie Park, Culter) H-T 3— 1. Scorers: Culter — Chris Mountford
28, 55. Allan Smith 17, Martin Shand 36, Greg Donald 62 and Darryn Kelly 83. East End — Ryan Smith 40.

Saturday 21 November 2009. On a dull, damp, dark afternoon Culter hit East End for six. The rain
became heavier and it turned darker as the game progressed. We had fears of the game being abandoned until the relief of Referee Martin Kerrigan’s final whistle.

Taylor had a chance in the 31,j minute but his header went past the post. Three minutes later Mountford tried to shoot on the turn but failed to connect properly. A 12th minute Walker cross was headed narrowly over by Taylor. After neat play by S hand he pushed the ball out to Mountford on the right flank and he crossed to ALLAN SMITH who fired Culter ahead. East End’s Smith, Ryan, sent a free kick high over after 20 minutes had been played. The same player then took a 23d minute corner which was comfortably gathered by ‘keeper Farquhar. Next minute Donald was so unlucky when his strong shot hit the underside of the crossbar and the rebound was cleared. Youngson slipped the ball to MOUNTFORD who drove home Culter’s second goal in 28 minutes. On the half hour mark Carroll was booked for a foul on Mountford. A Mountford cross broke to SHAND who turned neatly to shoot Culter further ahead with 36 minutes on the stop-watch. Farquhar punched a high ball out of the goalmouth and it went to RYAN SMITH out on the right wing and he sent it high into the roof of the net to reduce the leeway. A 43Fd minute Youngson free kick from the edge of the box was cleared. A minute before the interval Mountford tried to cross but the ball was deflected past for a corner. The resultant corner broke to Craik whose drive was blocked. Half Time: 3 — 1.

After the interval the rain worsened and it became darker. Two minutes after the restart East End attacked but Taylor failed to get his shot in. A minute later Garioch came on as substitute for Wilson. A 50” minute Ryan Smith drive was held by Farquhar. A couple of minutes afterwards Garioch passed to Mouniford who shot past. In the 55th minute Craik sent to ball to MOUNTFORD who volleyed home his 2 goal. In 57 minutes McLeod replaced Carroll. After an hour had been played East End somehow missed the easiest of chances after a good build up. Next minute Wyness replaced Shand. In the 62r minute DONALD took the ball down with his chest and thumped it home. Culter gained two corners in succession in 75 minutes and the ball was almost punched into his own net by ‘keeper Barney but a defender cleared off the goal-line. Ryan Smith earned a booking in 69 minutes. Craik gained a 7O minute corner and defender Keith went into Referee Kerrigan’s book for kicking the ball away. After good work by Youngson his 73” minute shot was saved at the bottom of the post by Barney. A minute afterwards Ryan Smith was substituted by Roberts. After a good move by Culter, Mountford’s parting shot was well saved by Barney in 78 minutes. An 83rd minute Youngson free kick into the goalmouth was netted from close range by KELLY — No 6 scored No 6! An 85th minute Wyness drive was stopped by Barney. A minute later Culter made poor work of corner and in the last minute an East End corner was cleared. In the deepening darkness Culter were relieved to hear Referee Kerrigan’s final whistle.
