Saturday 10 October 2009. Culter outp!ayed a determined Maud side but the scoreline flattered the Buchan side. Talismanic Chris Ogboke scored a double to keep up his remarkable record since rejoining the Deesiders.

Culter had much of the early play and Dod McBain scurried down the right but Steve Powell humped the ball out for a throw in. Moments later a deep cross from Greg Donald was flapped at by Lee Simpson in the Maud goal but he gathered at the second attempt. Martin Shand then set Ryan Stott free but his parting attempt was far too high. Chris Ogboke then tried his luck from the edge of the area but his try was well saved. Culter were awarded a penalty in the I 5th minute when Chris Ogboke was felled on the edge of the area and initially the referee gave a free kick but on consultation with his assistant the decision was changed. The big striker dusted himself down and stroked the ball past the ‘keeper who went the wrong way. A few minutes later Colin Craik combined with Ryan Stott who set up Chris Ogboke but this time his header went agonisingly wide. At the other end Alan McIntosh failed to gather an Alex Davidson cross but Cohn Craik was on hand to hook the bail to safety. As the game progressed Maud gradually came into it and were just about rewarded when Darryn Kelly made a rare mistake but Alan McIntosh was on hand to save with his legs from Dave Ballard. Just before the interval a long Dod McBain pass was chased down by Chris Ogboke and he poked it into the pokey past the stranded ‘keeper. Half Time; 2 — 0.

At the start Culter made a the running with Greg Donald prominent on the right and he combined with Dod McBain who won a corner which came to nothing. The Deesiders were given a shock in the 57th minute when John Usher latched onto a long ball and with the home defence asleep he thrashed a grounder past the unguarded Culter custodian. This looked to be a minor setback as Cutter continued to pull the strings and were soon two back in front when a flowing move involving Chris Ogboke and Martin Shand saw Ryan Stott blast home a right footer. Allan Smith then tried to get into the action but his fizzing volley was well saved by Lee Simpson. Cutter then sent on Richard Wyness and Andy Sim for Chris Ogboke and Dod McBain but it was a stranqely subdued Allan Youngson who was next to try his luck with a decent strike which was marvellously saved by the Maud ‘keeper. Martin Cooper then wandered upfield but his header went harmlessly wide Culter were stunned yet again in the dying minutes when Sean Jamieson was given a clear run on goal and he picked his spot past the Culter ‘keeper.
