Culter v
East End: Culter capitulated their slim league chances when they went down to an
average East End side. The Deesiders were sifting 1-0 up and cruising when they
made changes to the side and it went belly up.
End looked prominent early on when they took the game to Culter but it was
Martin Shand who had the first chance of the game but he shot wide. The game
started to turn into a precession with the Deesiders dominating but they could
not find the target despite superior play. Eventually they took the lead when
Gordon Farmer whipped in a ball into the box and Hugh Robertson was on hand to
side foot home the opener. After that the game swung from end to end but neither
side gained the upper hand. Half Time: I — 0. Early in the second half Culter
were denied a penalty but the ref waved play on. Culter then changed their
formation with Kevin Garioch coming on for Gordon Farmer and this proved to be
the turning point as End equalised when Lee Murray stole in to put the visitors
back into the game. Five minutes later End broke up the park and went ahead when
Dave Booth snuck in behind Kevin Garioch to claim the advantage. Culter tried to
pressure the visitors but they were caught by a sucker punch late on when sub
Ryan Smith burst through to claim ar essential victory for the town team

LongsidevCulter: Culter’s miserable late season form continued with a
reversal against a young Longside team. Confidence is at a low ebb for the
Deesiders who have only a Cup Semi Final to look forward to now but still have a
few meaningless league games to play.
The visitors were prominent early on but Longside had the first chance from a
corner which Dave Black headed wide. Andy Sim then had a snap at goal for Culter
but Mike Thomson saved easily before John Farquhar was called into action when
he saved from Muir Murray. The home side took a deserved lead in the 30th minute
when Dave Black was completely unmarked following a corner and he stroked the
ball into the net. The play then swung from end to end with neither keeper being
tested until John Farquhar made a complete hash of a punch out and Chris Cameron
had the easiest of chances to slot in number 2. Just before the break Longside
had the ball in the net again but this time it was ruled out for a foul. H Time:
2 — 0. Culter just couldn't get going at the start of the second half and almost
paid for it when a defensive mix up let Chris Cameron in but he bleezed the ball
over. Culter sent on a raft of subs in a short period but it had little effect
on the match although Derek Craigie had two good chances to decrease the deficit
but he failed to find the target. The match was all over in the 85th minute when
Murray Rattray pulled down a player in the box and Ben Dankin stepped up to
place the perfect penafty behind the Culter ‘keeper. Cutter scored a ate
consolation when Hugh Robertson was upended in the box and Allan Youngson
completed the scoring from the spot.
