On a glorious Autumn afternoon Culter struggled to beat a stubborn
Burghead team. Despite most of the play they could not break down a well
organised defence.
Culter took the lead in 4 minutes when Dod McBain slipped the ball to Lewis
McKIMMIE who drilled the ball into the net. Burghead levelled in 18 minutes
when an uncharacteristic mistake by Kevin Ganoch allowed Andrew STEWART to
fire in a good equaliser. Half Time: 1 — 1.
Culter went ahead in the 78th minute after some good outfield play with
Martin SHAND hitting home. Culter made sure of victory when much to
everyone’s surprise Referee Gavin Deane awarded a penalty which Allan
YOUNGSON slotted home in the 89 minute.
A big improvement is required by Culter before next week’s critical
Superleague match against Sunnybank at Crombie Park.
