Strong Signing.  Due to the illness of regular Goalkeeper Martin Pirie, Team Manager Bobby Gray signed Goalkeeper Darren Strong from Buckie Thistle at the end of last week. His anticipated debut was delayed due to the Glentanar v Culter game being postponed yesterday.

30 Years Ago.   On Sunday 5 December 1976 Culter beat Kemnay 4 - 1 at Kemnay to win the Neil Scott Memorial Trophy.   This trophy was presented to the Aberdeenshire Amateur FA by Miss June Mair, in memory of her fianc6e Neil Scott, who died as the result of a road accident on the eve of their wedding in August 1976. Kemnay and Culter, their closest rivals during Neil's playing career, were first contestants of the Trophy.         The match went on in spite of the weather - the Kemnay pitch was covered in snow but the lines had been cleared by Kemnay officials.  Police were on duty to control the traffic. Trophy donor June Mair distributed souvenir programmes to the spectators and a minute's silence was observed before the game. The Referee was E J Coutts and his Linesmen were B Ahern and J Duguid. Culter's scorers were Ronnie Smith (2), Peter George and Doddie Gibson whilst John Buchan scored a last minute consolation goal for Kemnay.  Team Manager Alex Irvine was particularly pleased by our team winning the first Trophy contested in his new role.  Our team was-.I MacDonald; D Strath, D Jamieson, G Spry (Captain), P George, G Galashan; P Robertson, R Gibson, R Smith, G Gauld, R Buchan; Substitutes: R Beattie, G Scott, P Longmoor and A Watt.

Every Best Wish for the Festive Season and for success in  2007 from    CULTER FOOTBALL CLUB
