After a wet night, wet morning and wet afternoon many games were postponed and with thick mist developing we wondered if our match would be completed before darkness descended. Fortunately we beat the weather and Acorn Heating Cup Holders Culter beat Trophy Donor Brian Meldrum's Team FC Stoneywood.

A 4th minute Culter corner from Pressley broke to Ogboke whose neat flick was deflected past for another corner.  In the 12th minute OGBOKE hit in a cracking opening, and what proved only goal, which came out of nothing. Two minutes

later Ogboke struck another raging drive which went six inches over the crossbar.     In the 18th minute a long range Rennie shot went harmlessly over the bar. Next minute after a good move involving Christie and Ogboke, Christie's parting shot-was-saved by Marwick. Former Culter player Greg Davidson went down injured at this stage and limped off but resumed a couple of minutes later after attention.

A 20th minute Stoneywood comer from Burnett proved fruitless. Craik won a 23rd minute comer off which Calder shot wide.      Next. minute Craik gained another comer and took a quick short one which was easily cleared. In the 25th minute Ogboke's shot was turned past by Marwick for a corner which broke to Smith whose long range drive went over. Stoneywood gained a corner in 27 minutes then Culter raided and Christie's cross was headed out for yet another corner from Craik which was clutched in the air by Marwick. This was followed on the half hour mark by a further Craik comer: A minute later Ogboke's drive was blocked by Marwick but not one was there to take advantage of the loose ball and it ran out to Christie who cut it in to McRitchie whose grounder towards the corner of the net lacked power and was held by

Marwick. A 32nd minute Davidson shot was easily held by Pirie. This was followed by another Craik corner.  In 36 minutes a dangerous high cross was well taken single-handed by Pirie. In the 38th minute a Stoneywood corner was headed clear by Christie. Next minute Ogboke broke through and gained a corner. Off Craik's comer Scott's header was ably held by Marwick. FC Stoneywood had a great double chance to level the score a minute before the interval when a Davidson shot was blocked by Pirie and broke to give Armour a clear cut opportunity from close range but again Pirie came to Culter's rescue with a fine save.  Half Time 1 - 0.

Four minutes after the interval Culter gained a corner. A minute later Craik pushed the ball through to Ogboke whose shot on the turn curled narrowly over the bar.  In 51 minutes Murray replaced the injured Davidson. Ogboke cut the ball across in the 55th minute towards Craik but Marwick beat him to it.   Baikie went down after a 59`h minute Pressley tackle, went off for attention, then resumed a minute later. Thain was next to suffer an injury and was replaced by Sim in 62 minutes. Two minutes afterwards Rattray headed the ball on to Ogboke who missed a close range chance by shooting past.    A great 69th minute Craik shot was turned past by Marwick for a corner. A minute later Shand replaced Christie, much to Christie's dismay. In the 74th minute Shand hit the ball across the goalmouth to Ogboke who mis-hit at close range and the ball went over the bar. Glass came on as substitute for Craik in 75 minutes.    Next minute Glass's corner resulted in a goalmouth scramble. In the 77th minute Armour cut the ball across to Burnett whose drive was stopped by an excellent Pirie save.     At this stage Leslie was brought on for Carmichael.    Pirie then stopped an 80th minute point blank range try from Armour but in any case Referee Cobb's whistle had gone for offsides.     Burnett was booked for an 81st minute foul on Smith.      In 83 minute Collins was fielded for Meldrum. Culter gained a comer three minutes into injury then were relieved to hear Referee Cobb's final whistle.
