Culter marched into the semi final of the Grill Cup where they will meet Banchory St. Ternan at Crathes at a date yet to be specified. The match itself was a tense affair with both sides cancelling each other out until Farmer was introduced and he changed the game by scoring the first and making the second.

With the game barely started Rintoul gave a taste of what was to come when he floored Culter's Thain with the first tackle of the game. Neither the Ref nor the nearside assistant seemed to notice and play went on. Following a few minutes delay Thain was replaced by Christie but it was Stewart who created the first chance of the game when he crossed to Robertson but he headed wide. Koc then burst through but Rattray was on hand to deny him with a fine tackle. Rintoul was then yellow carded for howking down Christie as the game threatened to erupt but a few minutes later the visitors put together a decent attack involving Somers, Wilson and Anderson but Scott forced the ball out for a corner. The first shot on target came from Wilson of `Bank which Pirie did well to parry and Scott was on hand to hack the ball clear of danger. Stewart the won: a corner for the Deesic9ers which was partially cleared to Robertson on the edge of the area but his rising drive whistled over. McRitchie then tried to scamper clear but his parting shot.. was high and mighty. With 23 minutes gone another Stewart free kick was pinged into the box but the towering Scott headed well over. Rintoul was next to be booked for what appeared to be dissent and he was closely followed by Stewart an innocuous looking foul. With the play in stop start mode Anderson's name was next to go into the book before a dangerous Stewart corner saw the ball bob about the box like bagatelle. With 10 minutes of the half remaining Law earned a booking as it looked as if referee Sim would have to retire to the Pavilion to sharpen his pencil. When play got going McRitchie set up Shand but his parting shot was easily saved by Mclntosh. Just before half time Stewart attempted a cheeky chip from the edge of the box but the ball fell softly into Mclntosh's arms.

`Bank started the second period with a couple of half chances from Wilson and Somers but Pirie was not unduly troubled by them. Then next few minutes saw little action until a Robertson free kick was met by Rattray but he failed to control the ball and the chance was gone before McRitchie tried to amble clear but Pirie put in a great challenge to deny the striker. Farmer then replaced Shand in the 68th minute but Culter's Robertson and then Christie got booked as the game seemed to be heading for penalties after the ninety minutes. Craik tried to up be tempo by putting on Craik for Robertson but it was Farmer who almost got the opener with a deflected shot but Mclntosh reacted to clutch the ball at the near post. `Bank should have gone ahead soon after when Somers was left free in the box but he headed the ball well wide of target. Just half a minute later Culter went in front when a piece of McRitchie magic set Farmer free in the area and he buried a thunderbolt past the hapless Mclntosh. The keeper was booked for protesting the score but Culter went further ahead when Ord made his most telling contribution of the day when he set Farmer galloping down the left wing. The winger drove into the box before sending a low pass to the lurking McRitchie and he steered the ball into the back of the net.
