Home Win Against Hermes

Soccer World Super League Culter 5 Hermes 2 H-T 3-2

Scorers': - Culter Ord 12, Cameron 30, 55, Craik 37, Davidson 90. Hermes Parley 5 Greig 40(o.g.)

Culter moved up the table and are just one point off the pace and they continue to score goals for tun.
Hermes put up a fighting performance but just could not cope with the dynamic Culter forward line.

With a strong breeze at their backs Hermes started on the attack and Rattray was on hand to boot away a misdirected Greig header. At the other end Adam had a chance but he screwed the ball wide from the edge of the area. The visitors took the lead in spectacular style in the 5"' minute when PARLEY, seemingly with nowhere to go, blasted a shot into the top comer from the edge of the area. A few moments later a Stewart goal bound effort was blocked as Cutter pushed for the equaliser. It was not long in coming when Greig swung a good ball into the area and ORD darted in behind the defence to bury the ball behind Sweeney in the Hermes goal. The Aberdeen side kept trying and Koc headed wide from a Thomson cross before Smith almost sent Culter ahead with a great shot from distance which flew just past the upright. The Deesiders sneaked in front on the half hour mark when Calder sent CAMERON free on the right and he rounded the keeper with style before jubilantly slotting home. Smith then combined with Craik to set up Calder but his parting attempt went well wide. Culter went ahead soon after when a
long range Rattray free kick was met by CRAIK who drove the ball into the bottom right hand comer of the net. With Culter seemingly on easy street a defensive mix up led to another Hermes counter when GREIG headed into his own net with Parley in close attendance. On the stroke of half, time Parley was lucky to stay on the field when he deliberately barged Rattray from behind with the ball nowhere close. However referee Duncan only produced a yellow.

At the start of the second half Greig sent Craik away and he crossed for Cameron who headed just past with Sweeney stranded. Hermes refused to lie down and some goad passing football ended up with Watson crossing the ball across the face of the goal but there was no forward in the box to take advantage. Greig almost made amends for his OG when his powerful header, from an Adam comer, was brilliantly saved by Sweeney. Moments later the keeper came to the rescue again and this time he got to a blistering drive from Adam who had struck the ball from 30 yards out It was all over bar the shouting in the 55`h minute when CAMERON doubled his tally when he latched on to a through ball before rounding Sweeney and trundling the ball-into the net from a tight angle. Hermes then made a double substitution in the 57"' minute but it was Cameron who almost scored his twelfth in three games when he hit a spectacular effort just over. Culter then sent on McRitchie and Davidson for Stewart and Ord and it was the former who almost scored with his first touch when he met a Cameron cross first time but the ball whizzed inches over.

Davidson then went skipping free and he found McRitchie in the box but again he failed to find the target from decent position. In the dying minutes DAVIDSON scored a goal of real quality when he drove diagonally across the pitch before despatching a sweet, low effort past the diving keeper.
