Friday 13th May Soccer World Super League

Culter 2 Stonehaven 1  H-T  1-1

Scorers: Culter  Cameron 38,90 +5, Stonehaven Glass 90 +3

Culter produced a miracle in time added on for stoppages when Roddy Cameron scored the winner in the 95th minute after Glass had equalised in the 93rd minute. With Glentanar having already beaten Turriff at the Haughs to leave their title aspirations hanging in the balance but now it is sure to go to the wire. The game itself was pretty jittery until the remarkable final flurry.

Culter started on the offensive when Rattray found Cameron free in the box but Donaldson produced a good block to deny the striker. Moments later a alder cross was turned into the side netting by Donaldson and from the comer by Ord, Greig rose to head the ball straight at keeper Stubbs. Cowell then set up Ord with a deep cross but the diminutive midfielder's header grazed the bar and a goal kick was awarded. Calder then set up McRitchie who held the ball before pushing it back to Cowell but he blazed his shot over. At the other end `Hive had a chance from a Campbell header but Pirie saved easily but seconds later the Culter keeper had to make a good save from the same player with `Hive having strong claims for a penalty turned down. The best chance of
the game of the game thus far came in the 25th minute when Christie found himself free in the box but his shot lacked power and was easily saved by Stubbs. Culter looked as if they had gone ahead in the 37t'h minute from a Cameron flick but the keeper managed to get a hand on the ball and turn it against the post. Culter were not to be denied the opener and it came a minute later when Calder ran clear before picking out CAMERON who gleefully sent the ball past the helpless Stubbs. McRitchie had a chance minutes later but Collie threw his body at the ball to deny the burly striker. -

`Hive came out fighting at the start of the second half and Hutcheon burst free before sending a good effort just wide. With 4 minutes gone in the half Craik had a great strike charged down by Collie before an Ord free kick was punched out for a comer by Stubbs. Hive then pushed forward and a good ball by Hay from wide on the right was palmed away by Pirie and Christie was on hand to mop up. Hive then sent on Smart for Sim but it was Culter who continued to dominate without threatening but it was the Meams men who almost equalised when Hutcheon set up Glass but Pirie made a fine save. Culter had the next opportunity Calder combined with McRitchie to set up Cowell but this time his rising shot went just over. In an attempt to inject some pace Culter sent on Stewart for Ord and 'Hive reacted by putting Adams and Low for Donaldson and Hutcheon. Stewart's first contribution was to skip free before crossing to Craik who should have shot instead of trying to pick out McRitchie. The big striker was replaced minutes later with Thain but it was `Hive who began to dominate the last few minutes as Culter seemed to develop the jitters. With the large crowd beginning to depart `Hive scored
following a comer when an almighty scramble got up in the box and GLASS popped up to prod the ball into the net. It looked all aver for the Deesiders with the seconds ticking away but from a Craik free kick CAMERON rose in the crowded penalty area to flick in a header which Stubbs could only help over the line.

Culter: Pirie, Cowell, Greig, Calder, Rattray, Smith, Ord, Cameron, McRitchie, Craik, Christie.
Subs: Stewart, Davidson, Allan, Thain, Collie.
