Peterculter Medical Practice
New GP Registrar
DR JOANNE OWEN and husband
David are now proud parents, young Rebecca arriving safely in early July - we
wish them all the very best, and much happiness ahead.
Our new GP registrar in
August will be Dr Ian Thomson, who spends a year with the practice to complete
his general practice training. We are fortunate to have Dr Howarth staying on
with us after completing her training year here to help out (along with Dr
Stuart Duncan) with cover for Dr Owen's maternity leave. Last month we said
goodbye to Mrs Barbara Neely who had been with us for many years as District
Nurse - we wish her well in her retirement. At present we are interviewing for
her replacement.
Apologies for the upheaval
in the waiting room over the past few weeks. The ceiling began to give way
without warning at the end of July - the cause is under investigation at the
time of writing and will obviously be
repaired at the
earliest opportunity. For safety reasons we are unable to use the waiting room
at all during this time and so a make-shift temporary waiting 'huddle' has been
set up in the corridor. We will do our best to ensure that this situation does
not drag on too long.
On the medical front we
will be turning our attention soon to the annual autumn flu vaccination
programme, so do watch out for reminders about this.
Best wishes
Dr Douglas Harris
