Two Years On...
& Now Two Buses!
WESTHILL & District
Community Minibus is a Voluntary, not-for-profit group which won a 50% share of
an LDV Minibus in the Press & Journal tokens collection competition in Spring
2002. The other joint owner group is
W004ioi Kingswells After
School Club and their usage time is school days. Many different groups can use
the Minibus. We have also recently purchased a used Renault Minibus to help meet
the rising demand, A principle reason for purchasing the second vehicle was so
that there would be one permanently available for general use by any group on
school days (i.e. when the K.A.S.C. uses the LDV bus) Both buses are available
for hire on evenings and weekends.
Capacities are 16
passengers for the LDV and 14 for the Renault. They are available for hire by
any group or individual in this area, on a self-drive basis or with one of our
volunteer drivers, for any type of event and any distance. No special licence or
permit is required to drive them, but drivers MUST be over 21. They are fully
insured for any driver. Bus hires with a driver are available to any Scottish
airport. The Renault is adaptable to take up to two wheelchairs by taking out a
few seats and it has a wheelchair
ramp. This facility allows
bulky items to be carried on the bus and so we are now offering a home delivery
service from places like Costco (evenings and weekends only)
The hire charges are very
reasonable. For enquiries and a quotation, contact David Ritchie on 01224
744058, Mobile 07989 673461 or E.Mail
bus@westhill.org.uk. An enquiry/ booking form will soon be available on Web
Site at www.westhill.org.uk.
