EASTLEIGH CARE CENTRE

BY THE time this goes to print, you will have enjoyed a warm, sunny summer and been able to recharge your batteries.

Our residents at Eastleigh have enjoyed the warm sunshine and have been able to go on outings, walks, attend our annual BBQ and enjoyed the company of the many visitors we have had to the Care Centre.

We held a most successful May Fayre and raised the largest sum yet. It is important to note that whatever fundraising event we hold, the money raised is for the residents’ fund only. This money is used to enhance the life of each resident at Eastleigh in a non- medical way.

Eastleigh ’s front door area is looking most attractive with sets of new planters and colourful plants within. Many visitors and residents have commented on this. Some of the residents were responsible for helping me to plant out the bedding plants. This proved very therapeutic.

Our BBB at the end of June was blessed with good weather and attracted quite a crowd. They were treated to a delicious spread provided by our cook, Lorna, ably assisted outside by Gordon, her husband.

In the autumn we will be holding a Book Sale, Clothing Sale by Jack’s of Keith, Family Quiz and Silent Auction. The Silent Auction will be held on Friday 14 November 2003 .

May I take this opportunity of thanking all who support us. We appreciate this very much and hope that you will continue to support the residents of Eastleigh , many of whom have been residents of Culter for many, many years supporting the community in all manner of ways during their earlier years.
