FOLLOWING
the
success of the Camphill
Jumble Sale in the Culter Hall, plans
are well under way for the Open Day
on Saturday 21st September in the afternoon.
Do come down to Camphill and
visit the houses and classes, enjoy a
puppet show or dip some candles or perhaps
make a simple clay pot. Come and
try our home baking, fire grilled BBQ
and organic vegetables. Hopefully too there will be a chance to see
the Culter Junior Pipe Band play.
The
end of term was marked by a double
celebration;
six
students
graduated from our partnership with Aberdeen University with a BA
in Curative
education and fifteen pupils graduated from Class 12 with
a wonderful performance of Mozart's Magic
Flute much to the delight of the many parents and guests who were
gathered in Carnelian Hall for the occasion.
This occasion also marked the opening of the Camphill Estate Sensory Garden
towards which many of you contributed
during our fund raising over the last year. The garden features an
area of wild flowers, a sand pit, outdoor
musical instruments, a raised flower bed with plants
especially chosen
for their bright colours, strong scent and interesting texture, and a flow
form fountain as a central feature. It will be open for your enjoyment at
the Open Day.
We
were also glad the 'Queen' was able to
visit both Camphill, to their Sports Day, and Murtle, to their garden
party during her busy jubilee schedule. The visit was enjoyed by all!
We
look forward to seeing as many of you
as possible on 21 September!
