ROTARY CLUB
BOOST FOR THE BIG SMILE APPEAL
ARCHWAY'S Big Smile Appeal is a bit closer to
its target after a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Aberdeen
Deeside. The local charity, which supports over 220 children and adults
with learning disabilities, is aiming to raise £35,000 to build a
snoozelen (multi sensory room) and activity room at its Garthdee unit.
The Rotary Club of Aberdeen Deeside, the
newest in the city, donated £400 to the appeal after the convener of its
community committee, John Adams, paid a visit to the unit to find out more
about it. "I was very impressed with what I saw at Archway and was
delighted we were able to help," said Mr Adams.
Although a relatively new club, the 33
members of the Rotary Club of Aberdeen Deeside have already raised several
thousands of pounds for local charities, with more fundraising activities
lined up. Mr Adams was also optimistic that the club would continue to
support Archway in the future: "Now we know what Archway does I hope
the Rotary Club of Aberdeen Deeside will enjoy a long association with the
Archway charity helping in its caring role."
