CCC NEWS

THE country has been through a sad period with the loss of the Queen Mother who had a long and active life; many of the older residents will remember when she used to drive through Culter to her summer retreat. This period was also one to be celebrated and as it is coinciding with her daughter's Jubilee. We hope the community will join in with some of the celebrations. The opportunity will be at the coming Gala. We are very lucky in that we have a very good team who have been working hard to make certain that the Gala brings a fun week with a final DAY that will bring smiles to all who attend. There is only one thing the team cannot guarantee - the weather, so please keep your fingers crossed and wish for - sunshine all the WEEK. REMEMBER THE DATE GALA DAY 1st JUNE 2002. Come along and have some fun. Your CCC has been working away at many projects since last talking to you and we hope that we might see some results. Thanks very much to such as Doug Stewart who is dealing with ROADS and Lavina Massie with PLANNING. Thanks are also due to Susan Chappell-Smith who dealt with Planning matters while Lavina was on an extended 'holiday' in Idaho, USA. My thanks go out all of the Committee who give their time so willingly, and also to the new members who have been listening and have come to join us. We were delighted that Nicola Hector came forward and offered to take on the job of Treasurer. So we seem to be up and running - but there are still vacancies. May the summer, which is almost upon us, be a good one?
