THE summer term is with us again and with it
comes a new sense of purpose to link with the folk of Culter. To help
achieve this, we held our first jumble sale in the village hall on llth
May This allowed us to show our exhibition and offer candle dipping and
hopefully, in the future, more Camphill activities to supplement our Open
Day. This year it will be on Saturday 21 September. (More details of this
in next Courier)
We also hope to be able to offer guided
nature walks through the Estate, donkey riding afternoons and organic
garden produce sales. Perhaps, too, if there is sufficient interest, we
may find ways to share our rich cultural life with the village as well.
The impulse behind this new initiative is the anniversary of our founder,
Karl Konig, whose birthday was 100 years ago in September.
Without the welcome that the people of Culter
gave the pioneers in 1940,Camphillwould never have become the world wide
movement that it is today. We would like to renew our links with the
locality and become better known so that in the future we will not any
longer hear, "Gosh, I have lived in Culter for 20 years and never
knew what was at the end of Pittengullies Brae!" If you are
interested in being involved with us please contact the Office.
