| March Magic: Cuiter were crowned NRJFA Printagraph
Premier Division 'Team of the Month' after winning all five games in March
2002. The victories included a 3-1 win over New Elgin at Lossiemouth in
the Regional Cup Semifinal.
Ton-up 'Toastie': Culter's prolific scorer, Neil Toastie'
McRitchie, scored his 100th goal for the Club in less than two seasons. He
netted a remarkable 53 times last season and his 10th goal came against
Buchanhaven Hearts on Saturday 6 April 2002. His current tally this season
is now 50 goals with a possible 14 games to go.
Straight Swop: An exchange of players took place between Culter
and Parkvale. Kevin Thomson went to Parkvale whilst Christopher Collie
came to Culter.
Era Ended: Culter Football Club has been in existence at least
as far back as 1891. The Gordon Arms Hotel opened in 1899 and Culter FC
were associated with, and sponsored by, the Hotel over the last 100 years.
The closure of the Gordon Arms in February 2002 for conversion into flats
brought the historic relationship to a disappointing finish and an era has
ended.
Dee Demolished: Culter produced a dazzling display to beat Banks o'
Dee 6-0 at Spain Park in the Semi-final of the Acorn Heating Cup on
Saturday 20 April 2002. Culter now meet formidable Formartine United at
Heathryfold on Friday 31 May 2002. The last time these two teams met in a
Cup Final was also at Heathryfold on Saturday 29 April 2000 when underdogs
Culter upset the odds to beat favourites Formartine United 2-1 to win the
prestigious Regional Cup.
