PETERCULTER PARISH CHURCHTHE most important season in the Christian year is Easter when we remember Christ's death and resurrection. Each year. Holy Week services take place in the Cults/ Mill timber/Culler area in a different church. It is our turn to host these services this year. They will take place every evening of Holy Week from 25-29 March at 7pm and all are warmly invited to come along. On Easter Day, we will have our usual outdoor service on the glebe at 9.30am, with a service of celebration at the church at 11am. We have decided to hold two special Youth Services each year and the first of these, which also will include the Thinking Day ceremony, will be on Sunday 17 February at Ham-On Sunday 2 March, Tern TV will be recording a service of worship at Peterculter Parish Church for broadcasting on Grampian and STV later this year. Obviously we would like to have a full church for the recording and all are welcome. The recording will begin at 10am and it will take just over two hours. Looking even further ahead, we will be welcoming the Glasgow Phoenix Choir on Saturday 20 April at 7pm. The choir, which is the successor of the Glasgow Orpheus Choir, has toured all over the world and at least 60 members will be coming to the church. This should be an excellent evening's entertainment On Monday 29 April, we will be hosting a concert by 'Soloists of St Petersburg'- This is a group of singers who are at present touring the UK, having performed previously in various countries in Europe. They present a combination of Russian religious and folk songs and I am told that the music is beautiful and very moving. Full details about all our services and events can be obtained by phoning the church office or on our web site at www.culterkirk.co.uk John Ferguson. |
