CULTER PLAYGROUP

FIRSTLY, a big Thank you' to all who supported our coffee morning in November. Over £500 was raised, some of which went towards Christmas treats for the children.

December at Playgroup passed in an enjoyable whirl of glitter, parties and carols sung in wee angelic voices. The Playleaders, Sheena, Sheila and Jane worked tirelessly to give the children a fun and memorable Christmas time. The opposite end of the age spectrum enjoyed a special performance of our Nativity Play at Eastleigh Nursing Home.

The current topic at Playgroup is "people who help us".   The

Playleaders are teaching the children about the role of the GP, Nurse, Policeman, Postman, Lollipop Lady, Fireman etc. The children will also get a chance to learn first hand from local professionals when some of the above make guest appearances in uniform!

Playgroup is full at present. Parents wishing to enrol children (aged 2 I/ 2 upwards) may add their names to the waiting list.

Forthcoming events are firstly "Ladies Night" (quizzes, wine and laughs galore) on Friday 8 February, 8pm till late, rickets ii5 per head; and secondly a bus trip to Ikea, Glasgow, Saturday 16 March, tickets £14 each. Tickets for both events are available from the Village Hall. Places are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.

Finally, Playgroup has signed up for the "Books for Schools" scheme. Please help us to update our library comer by cutting out tokens from The Sun Newspaper and Walkers Crisps, and handing them in to us.
