PETERCULTER COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP
CULTER Playgroup has been established for some 35 years and our fully qualified Playleaders have worked with Playgroup for the last 12 years. We are owned and managed by the children's parents and as a "Partner Provider" we can offer both funded and unfunded places.
We are currently compiling our register for next year and although many of the places have been accepted, there may be places becoming available as our older children move on to Pre-school Nursery throughout the year.
If your child is two and a half years old and would like the stimulation of being in a creative and fun atmosphere with others of the same age, then perhaps Playgroup is the place. To register your child for a place at Playgroup, please contact our Playleaders: Sheena, Sheila or Jane on 733289 or drop in to the Village Hall (door at the rear) and have a chat.
Events at Playgroup:
Last term we had a fantastic trip to the Central Library and actually took part in the storytelling, with lots of music, movement and dance. It really was a brilliant experience and one which the children are still talking about now!
We will be taking the children to the Soft Play Centre for their end-of-year trip and will be arranging a treasure hunt at Drum Castle for the older children.
It's not just the children who enjoy being part of Playgroup, the parents get to join in with the fun too! We have quite an extensive fundraising calendar, with the following events scheduled:
Tuesday 24th May - Sponsored Walk along Deeside Railway Line: Our children will take part in a fancy dress sponsored walk from the St Peter's Heritage Centre along the railway line and back. Sponsorship forms are being circulated now, so if you are accosted, you'll know what it's all about!
Saturday 28th May - Culter Gala: The Playleaders and some of the parents will be running a stall at the forthcoming Gala, with plenty of fun activities for the children, so please look out for us on the day.
Saturday 11th June - Table Top Sale at the Village Hall: Come along and pick up some real bargains or just come in for soup and a roll. There will be a wide range of items on offer, including crafts, homebakes, clothes, toys and many household items. If you would like to take a table at this event, please contact the Playgroup on 733289. Hope to see you there.
Well, I'm off to get my fancy dress outfit ready for the sponsored walk, look out for us on the railway line on 24th May and give us a wave.
