AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL DOG OWNERS/ WALKERS IN PETERCULTER
I HAVE just returned indoors, having cleared up over twenty piles of dogs' mess (ugh!) from the small grassy area opposite my house.
I would urge all dog walkers to accept all the responsibilities which come with owning a dog. It takes only a few seconds to clear up after your dog and, if this is too much trouble, then perhaps you could restrict your dog to messing in your own garden.
Dog fouling is resulting in `no go' play areas for our children. Family walks along the river and the old railway line are marred with constant shouts of `Watch your feet!'
Please carry `poop bags' with you when out walking your dog; consider the consequences of your inaction and whether you really are a suitable person to be owning such a lovely animal.
