CULTS CRICKET CLUB

SEASON 2005 is now upon us and the club starts all over again renewed and refreshed. Previous seasons' glories are assigned to the annuls of history. Pre-season has been completed with Pre-season friendlies enabling the club to get off to a winning start. How will we fare this year? The usual Cults CC traits of ability, organisation both on and off the field, a will to win, will again be to the fore. Playing for Cults is not easy; it requires a lot of dedication, graft, practise, more practise, then practise more. To paraphrase Gary Player, "The harder I practise the luckier I become." What is the secret of Cults success? Easy - sheer hard work.

Familiar names - in fact same as last year - but all committed (some should be) to the cause and furtherance of Cults CC.

* Senior nets Tuesday and Thursday 18:00 to 20:00.

* Nets are not optional.

With regret have to announce that we are no longer able to field a junior XI due to lack of numbers. However we are continuing with Kwik Cricket on Friday nights from 18:30 to 20:00 to be run by Phil Gill. For further information please contact Phil on (01224) 862196.

The Allan Park will again be tended by Bill Davidson. Bill spends most of his summer at the Allan Park and is a familiar figure to the park users. The long-term improvements to the square and surroundings continue apace. We work closely with Aberdeen City Council and we are indebted to their hard work. Readers of my musings over the years will have read about the great joy that the Allan Park has brought me - it is an absolute gem for the community and it is my continued hope that the vandals stay away.

* The Allan Park is not a golf course or a dog toilet.
