CAMPHILL RUDOLF STEINER SCHOOLS
NEWS
TO THOSE of you who attended the
Spring Fayre in Camphill Estate, a warm thank you for joining us and making our
first Fayre such a success. Many people came and participated in the various
events
most of which had an Easter theme. It was, we felt, a worthwhile experience to
share Easter preparations with our neighbours and again an opportunity to get to
know some of you. We are already thinking about our Open Day on the Saturday
afternoon of the September Aberdeen holiday.
Links with the locality have been further enhanced by the admission of another
pupil who attends a local school and who lives with us during term time. Another
application is currently being processed. With some of our therapists also now
working with local schools, we believe we are increasingly being seen as a local
resource and are trying to live up to the expectations that come with this.
Since I last wrote, the School has been inspected by the National Autistic
Society Accreditation team. We had hoped to share the result of this with you
now, but unfortunately their report has been delayed. Finally it may be of
interest to some you to know that two of our senior co-workers spent some of
their Easter holiday time at
one of our Camphill Communities in South Africa meeting together with
representatives from more than 80 Camphill places through our the world to
discuss issues which are affecting our communities internationally. It was
comforting to hear that many of our local issues are being played out in their
own way in far flung places of the Camphill Movement, and to recall at such
moments that the international movement began here in Camphill House in
Milltimber. Even there, thousands of miles away, there was discussion and great
concern shared about the impact of the western peripheral road on our work.
