CULTER PIPEBANDSTHE busy season for the pipe bands is about to start and the coming few months will see the bands out almost every weekend playing at engagements or competitions. We were at our first contest in March - the North East of Scotland mini-band contest in Aberdeen where Culter and District finished 3`a overall in grade 3 and was 15` in the drumming. The 47`h Culter BB novice band was not placed but it saw some new members having their first outing. The BB band was also at the Boys Brigade Scottish Bands contest in East Kilbride, on the 23`d April, coming in 3`a in the Championship class - this was a higher grade than they competed in last year, as winning the contest class meant they were upgraded for this year. During the Gala week, we will be doing a sponsored Playathon on Thursday 26' May at the Peterculter Parish Church car park (weather permitting) where we hope to have non-stop piping and drumming for 1'/z hours. Please come along and show your support and listen to the bands. 47th ABERDEEN (Culter) Co.BOYS' BRIGADETHE Boys Brigade session is almost over for this year and the boys are now looking forward to our annual camp at the Lebhall, Ballater. Hopefully we will have better weather than last year and they can enjoy the activities we have planned. We will be ending the session with an Open Night on the 19''' of May. The boys will be showing their parents and friends what they get up to on a Thursday night. We will then round off the night with the presentation of our annual trophies and promotion certificates. |
