Culter School PTA
TIME seems to be racing by and we are now into the Easter Term of
school. PTA events for this term:
A follow-up session for'Planning for Real' was held at school on
Saturday 15th January and, although this was not as well attended as the first
event, a substantial number of people came to see what action has already been
taken in the community. They also had a second chance to make suggestions to the
various representatives about what they would like to see taking place in Culter
in the future with regard to transport, health, education, environment, housing,
leisure facilities etc. (More details about this elsewhere in the Courier.)
Bingo night, Thursday 3rd February: this popular event was
scheduled as usual in the TV room at 7.30pm with teas and home bakes.
Silent Auction, Saturday 19th March: we are on the look-out for
unwanted gifts and pledges which we can auction. Last year we had some wonderful
pledges; these can be anything from:
• cooking someone a meal,
• providing a coaching lesson in a particular sport,
• doing someone's hair,
• donating a couple of hours of time to dig a garden,
• wash some windows etc.
We also hold a raffle at the end of the auction, provide teas and
home baking, as well as stalls and games for the children - all in all, a fun
morning out. Flyers will go out nearer the time informing people of the event
and how to make donations.
