Culter Gala 2005
EARLY January saw the Gala Committee meeting for the first
time in 2005 to begin planning for Culter's annual event.
Our first speaker of the year was Peter Sanderson from Aberdeen
City Council Community Learning & Development. Peter provided us with an
informative talk on the proposals for Culter School Pitch and reassurance that
the proposals wouldn't impact on the Gala activities.
Gala Proceedings will be launched on Saturday 7th May in Culter
Village Hall with the Race Night & Disco. Doors open 7pm. 2-course meal served
7.30-8pm. DJ starts at approximately 10pm until 1am.
* Tickets £7 each are ON SALE NOW from Jan on 732508
The following day, Sunday 8th May, the gymkhana will be held at
Hayfield, so hopefully the weather will be bright there.
As always a theme helps us plan best so, instead of the committee
deciding, we asked Culter School's Pupil Council to come up with some
suggestions, and we eagerly await these.
More details of the activities for Gala week will be included in
the next Courier and displayed on posters around the village, but we hope to
include:
• Duck Race
• Children's Treasure Hunt • Car Boot Sale
• Football
• Car Treasure Hunt • Quiz Night.
The Culter Gala will conclude on SATURDAY 28th MAY at Culter
School Field where we hope for another action packed day.
We are appealing for the following: • HELPERS (to assist during
events) • FLOAT ENTRIES
• RAFFLE PRIZES
• RACE NIGHT SPONSORS

It should have been mentioned in the last issue of the Courier, that Mr David
Deans repaid in
full
the money he had received from the Gala Committee. I apologise for this omission |
