Peterculter Parish Church
OUR services are now taking place at the earlier time of 10.30am.
This allows more time for coffee and fellowship after the service, as well as
extra activities such as Prayer Time, Discussion Time or the celebration of
communion after the main service.
You are warmly invited to attend our Easter services, which begin
on March 20th with a Family Service on Palm Sunday, which hopefully will include
an appearance from a donkey once again and a parade along North Deeside Road.
The joint Holy Week services between ourselves, St Devenick's and
what should by then be Cults Parish Church (with the two churches uniting on
March 10th) takes place in Peterculter Parish Church from March 21st - 25th at
7pm every evening.
On Easter Day, we will have a short outdoor service on the field
beside the Heritage Centre at 9.30am, followed by egg rolling and breakfast in
the Heritage Hall. All are welcome to come to worship, on what is the most
important day of the Christian year, at our main service at 10.30am when we
celebrate the resurrection of Christ.
We have started serving mid week lunches from time to time and
this is open to everyone in the community. The cost is £2.50 for a two-course
lunch. If you would like information about dates etc. for this, please phone
Moira Marshall on 732350 or the church office on 735845.
After the success of our last Christian rock concert, we will be
holding another one on March 5th at 7.30pm. The group is called 'Superhero' and
they have a web site at
www.superhero.org.uk which gives details of their music etc. A very
different kind of evening will take place on Tuesday April 19th at 7.30pm when
the Salvation Army will be holding a concert in the church. This is being
organised by The Guild and is open to all.
We continue to hold coffee mornings twice a week and I'm sure
that many more people would appreciate tea/ coffee and brilliant home baking at
reasonable prices. Come along any Thursday and Saturday mornings from
10am-12noon.
John Ferguson.
