PETERCULTER COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP

FIRSTLY, I'd like to welcome the children who have joined Playgroup since the October holidays and say a big 'Hello' to all children who have been attending since last term.

Playgroup is owned and managed by the children's parents, for the benefit of the children. Our aim is to provide the best possible pre-school experience for our children. As 'Partner Providers' we deliver the 'Curriculum Framework for 3-5 year olds'.

Playgroup has a ratio of one adult to six or ten children (depending on age), with a maximum of twenty children per session. The sessions are run with two of our three Playleaders: Sheena, Sheila and Jane (who have all worked in Culter Playgroup for over twelve years) with the third person being a parent or carer.

Sessions are from 9am to 12 noon, Monday to Friday, for children aged from two-and-a-half years old, and an afternoon session on a Tuesday for 'Rising 5s'. We currently have a few places available on a Tuesday and Thursday morning so, if your child is two-and-a-half years old and would like the stimulation of being creative in a fun atmosphere with others of the same age, perhaps Playgroup is the place to be. When your child reaches three years old, their place at Playgroup will be funded from the following term onwards.

Future events at Playgroup:

Our next event is the Annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday 13 November from l0am to 12 noon at the Village Hall. This event has always been a great fun, family event with various stalls from Bottles to Baking, Fudge to Face Paint, and Lucky Dip to Lovely Decorations. The proceeds will go towards the purchase of toys and equipment and treats for the children such as presents and outings.

Editor: Some people will not receive their Courier until after this Fayre but 1 do hope that it was a great success.

The children will be going to see 'The Happy Gang' at His Majesty's Theatre on lst December and will be performing their festive plays at their Christmas parties just before we break up for the Christmas holidays.
