Eastleigh Care Centre

I'D LIKE to start by thanking you out there in the community for the very positive way you responded to my request for Bone China tea sets, sugar tongs etc. Due to your generosity, I was able to build up quite a stock and was able to hold our first Traditional Afternoon Tea. We had our local Councillor, Pam MacDonald, one of our local Police Officers, Alasdair MacHardy, Rev. John Ferguson, his assistant Julie, and other representatives from organisations throughout the village. The whole occasion was a great success and we hope to repeat this again before Christmas.

In early September we held a very successful BBQ. We had picked a dry weekend, which made a change. The following day seven members of our staff, including me and the administrator's dog, competed in the Aberdeen Walkathon and raised over £200 for our Residents' Fund. Again we were lucky to have good weather.

Last month we held our Family Quiz, which was great fun. This evening is very popular and we had a larger crowd than ever. Well done to the winners, "The Duffers". Once again we were joined by about ten Primary 7 pupils from Culter School. We enjoyed their company and found their knowledge very useful. They acquitted themselves well and were a great credit to their parents and the school.

Soon we will be holding our Silent Auction, another popular event. After that it will be time to prepare for Christmas. We have much planned and the money raised for the Residents' Fund will be put to good use during the festive season to ensure our residents have a great time.

To all our supporters, a great big thank you and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
