Camphill School News
THE highlight of the last
term was undoubtedly our Open Day during the September holiday weekend. For
those of you unable to attend, there were hundreds of people including lots of
children. There were parents looking to see whether Camphill could meet their
child's needs, and the kindergarten stall was very busy with interested parents
making their enquiries.
Beautiful items were made
under the guidance of our craft masters; the garden produce stall was besieged
with eager buyers. There were long queues for:
• the donkey and cart
rides;
• what was on offer in
Marga's art studio;
• coffees and teas; • the
BBQ;
• face painting; • hair
braiding.
We were entertained by the
Culter Boys Brigade Pipe Band and by our own resident musician, and many
marvelled at the Oscar winning films being shown in the Hall. In between,
visitors relaxed under the 'spell' of colour light therapy and by looking and
marvelling at the quality of work produced by our pupils, which had been
creatively displayed in the classrooms.
Many former pupils joined
us as did former parents. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the start of our
Michaelmas week, and gave us a chance to share with our neighbours why the 'Camphill
way of life' could be threatened by a major dual carriageway running close by
one of our Estates.
As mentioned above our new
integrated nursery class is now open. More information about this is available
on our website:

We look forward to seeing
you again at our next open day in 2005.
