DID you know that around a third of what goes in your bin is food waste? This can now be reduced with the Green Cone digester. Green Cones have been specially designed to treat cooked and raw kitchen waste outside in your garden, which means less waste goes into your wheelie bin.

The Cones are safe and hygienic and only take up the space of an average dustbin, making them suitable for even the smallest of gardens or communal backyards. 1/3 of the unit is dug into the ground where the material can be broken down and the nutritious leachate can seep directly into your garden enhancing the soil directly around your cone.

The discounted Green Cones are available through the North East Master Composter Programme which'...aims to distribute 10,000 Green Cones and 7,000 Compost Units to householders in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.' says Project Officer Johannah Long.

The Master C o m p o s t e r Programme is funded by Transforming Waste Scotland, Aberdeen Forward, RAGS, Aberdeenshire Council Landfill Tax Awarding Body and run in partnership with the three local authorities.
