50+ WALKING GROUP
THE last walk in October was to the 7 Bridges via Ballater
and again a lovely day. Sun shining and no wind or rain! How lucky we have
been this year. Our next outing was Fetternear, which is a good walk with much
to interest us and a few words of history from those who know. Not myself I might
add; history was not my strongest subject. The 'Shakin' briggie was gae shakin'
for me but we made it across with no casualties. This was followed by a walk
to the Tyrebagger Forest area and on the 10th of December we had an outing to
'Peter Pan' at the theatre and some stayed in town for tea. A very enjoyable
afternoon and evening.
The
11th was our Christmas Lunch date at the Old Mill Inn and a company of 24
enjoyed an excellent meal, excellent service as well as company. A very happy
day.
Christmas
has been and gone as well as New Year with our first meeting being held to
arrange the walks for 2004. It was a gae miserable day but we went to Stonehaven
and had lunch by the harbour watching the 'white horses' then decided to make
for home. It was a really wet day.
We
welcome Kate Thomson and wish her well as our new 'Contact Person' and I have
gone into retirement - just a walker now. I have enjoyed the past three years
but new blood and new ideas are needed in the organisation. My thanks to all who
have helped me.
