PLAY DEVELOPMENT MONEY: CULTS/CULTER

ABERDEEN City Council has been allocated money to be spent on projects that enhance or develop play facilities for children and young people.

A group has been meeting to agree projects. These will be considered along with bids from other Neighbourhoods in the city.

The group includes Jane Glover (Headteacher Culter School) Karen Powrie (Health Visitor) Alasdair MacHardy (Grampian Police) Richard Keys (Teacher, Camphill) Diane Drummond (SEN Unit Cults Primary School) Isabel Morrison (ACC Social Work) Peter Sanderson (Comm. Learning & Dev.) and Catherine Dove (NCPO)

The group agreed three bids, all of which will be submitted for consideration.

They are as follows:

1. CULTER SCHOOL

Replacement games/ equipment: long-lasting thermo-plastic playground markings: giant draughts & giant chess set: vandal-proof basketball post: mobile/mini goal posts

2. CULTER AREA

"Hard area" on pitch next to Culter School for football and basketball with goal posts and basketball posts/net: area for skateboarders

3. CULTS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Additional play furniture - picnic benches: painted playground games: additional pathways around play equipment

We will hear on 11 February whether any of the bids have been successful and let you know details in the next edition of the newsletter!
