DEESIDE CHORISTERS

A HAPPY New Year to all! Thanks to the recruiting drive in the Autumn, there are now over 50 members of the organisation. You can imagine the problems of letting families know of a sudden change of plan, but we have a telephone team which tells everyone within an hour or so.

Full Choral Evensongs will be sung at St John's church (off Crown Street, Aberdeen) at 6.30pm on

• Sunday 8 February and • Sunday 7 March.

An average Evensong involves around ten pieces of music (all beautiful, of course!) of varying lengths, so it is a busy time for singers.

On Saturday 27 March, we shall sing 'LENTEN IMAGES', a programme of music which reflects the mood of Lent, at St Mary's Church (the former chapel of Blairs College) at Blairs, probably at 7pm.

In addition to music of the Renaissance period, there will be compositions by living composers, John Taverner and Arvo Part. Admission will be free as usual, with an optional collection towards expenses. All are welcome.
