50+ WALKING GROUP
AFTER a lovely summer, we have
to come to terms with some wet and dreary days with the usual cold wind and we
don’t like it!
Unfortunately, the summer has
to come to an end although we would have liked it to stay a while longer. The
trees are really beautiful in their autumn colours and Deeside is a treat on our
doorstep.
Drumtochty, The Old Railway
line to Cults, Potarch and the Shooting Greens followed by the climb up the
Barmekin have all been in beautiful weather and on the 2nd October we had an
excellent walk in the Ballochbuie Forest,
Invercauld. The waterfall is scarce of water but the scenery still beautiful and
a special treat to all of us who like the great outdoors. Our next walk is to be
in the Durris area - The Mulloch I believe is the name and there will also be
another short walk to make up our day out.
We are hoping to have another
driver within our group in the near future, namely Ian Fowler, who will be able
to take over from Ann Wakefield whose workload is always increasing. Ann has
been a stalwart of the group for many years and will still be associated with
us, probably having to drive now and again. She is not getting off the hook! We
wish her some ‘not so busy days’ to herself and our thanks for all she has
done to help us.
Betty Cruickshank.
