CULTER Theatre Club presents
‘Sleeping Beauty’ a traditional pantomime with good and evil. The director
is our very experienced Jen Cowie whose own niece, Ashley Jenson, appeared
recently in BBC l’s Silent Witness and ITV’s ‘Sweet Medicine’.
Ashley always tries to come and
see the Culter Theatre Club shows, especially the pantomime She has told Jen
they are every bit as good as any professional show with which she has been
associated. The Musical
Director is the talented David
Starbuck who is a teacher at Robert
Gordon’s School.
Our heroine, Princess Aurora is
played excellently by Fiona George who is in 6th year at
Cults
Academy
;our hero,
Prince Rupert
, is played by Pauline de Koning, who wrote and directed last year’s
pantomime, the much acclaimed ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.
There are quite a few new faces
in the show as well as the stalwarts of Culter Theatre Club -
John Mime plays the part of the
Dame Lucy Lastic, and will be sure to have you in hysterics. The wicked villain
of the piece is the Charcoal Fairy (played by Karen Stone) and her sidekick
Morticia (Rita Hunter) - they are determined to bring the demise of Princess
Aurora and nothing will stand in their way. Even a dragon is conjured up to
fight their evil cause.
So you see, the Diamond Fairy
(Lucy Gerrie) needs all the good people of
Grampian to help her in this
crusade to battle against the evil spells of the Charcoal Fairy.
We have plenty of wonderful
musical numbers to keep you well entertained - ‘Born to Be Wild’ (Easy
Rider), ‘One’, (A Chorus Line), ‘Five hundred Miles’ (Proclaimers),
‘Never Had a Dream Come True’ (S Club 7) and many more.
