CULTER GALA

GALA 2003: AUTUMN EVENTS

WE had two events arranged - a Gymkhana and a Race Night. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Gymkhana had to be postponed until a date in May 2004. That date should be available by the next Courier edition.

Race Night - Friday 26 September

This was a lively evening enjoyed by all age groups with about 80 participants. The Khyber Pass Association ran the evening for us with great expertise and we raised around £600 to add to Gala Funds. Moira Grieve provided excellent stovies and the younger ones enjoyed a lively disco afterwards while the geriatrics amongst us hobbled home.

Our thanks go to the Sponsors of the Races: Culter Community Council, Graham Wight, Brian Smith, The Boys Club and Aberdein Considine. And particularly to the Khyher Pass Association (an Aberdeen based Children’s Charity) who put so much effort into making our evening a good one.

 GALA 2004

THE Gala AGM will be on Thursday 27th November at 7.30pm in the Pop In. Plans for next year’s events will hit the Drawing Board at that meeting.

It is vital for the continuation of the Gala that Village groups send a representative. The Committee has operated with small numbers, these last two years, we have lost two members and we MUST HAVE more and younger blood into our ranks. I myself will be unable to continue due to changed family circumstances, so another Co-ordinator is essential, and must be supported by more Committee members.

Anyone who thinks they could offer some skills/energy etc. and has an interest in helping, please get in touch with a Committee Member.

DONATIONS FROM GALA FUNDS

NOW is the time for groups, which wish a donation from Gala Funds, to send in an application. Members of CCC prefer some idea as to how the money will be spent so please include this in your letter.

Disbursement of the available money will be made at the December meeting of CCC (date still to be confirmed) but requests must be received by Monday 8 December. Late applications will not be considered.
