CULTER BOYS CLUB
IN THE last issue, we
highlighted plans to develop land acquired to the south of Culter FC Juniors
football pitch at
Crombie
Park
, which could provide a permanent home pitch for Culter Boys Club and give a
major boost to community sport on
Lower Deeside
.
The lack of our own pitch and
changing facilities, mean that our boys have to travel tor their home games as
well as away ones and that we normally have to hire Council pitches of variable
quality.
A company with charitable
status called Castle Ltd has been formed to investigate what will be required to
develop the acquired land and transform it into first class playing and changing
facilities. Ideas for the long term include a sports pavilion with changing
rooms, a club committee room, kitchen facilities, general purpose sports and
recreation rooms plus a full sized grass playing area and an all-weather playing
surface potentially suitable for football, hockey, tennis, cricket practice and
other sports.
Pictures of the site and more
information on the plans can be found on the Culter Boys Club website at
www.culterboysclub.co.uk
The project will be officially
launched on the evening of Tuesday 18th November at Kippie Lodge starting at
7.30 pm
and anyone with an interest is invited to attend to hear more about the
detailed plans and the fund raising challenges ahead. For more information on
the launch evening, contact Culter Boys Club Secretary Stuart Davidson.
In the meantime, two of our
teams have been successful in securing a regular
venue for their home games at Webster Park in Kingswells, a new Council
owned facilitv managed by Kingswells Community Centre. The Under l3s have
already started playing their home games here and the Under l5s will follow when
their season starts again after a break for the October holidays.
